DEEP DIVE - EMANCIPATOR LOCI SHOWCASE 

In 2012 Emancipator founded Loci Records out of Portland, Oregon. Having grown up in Virginia, he left home for the nature that called his name in the Pacific Northwest. Here he created an ensemble of musicians with parallel values. The atmosphere that surrounds him in that environment flows into his music allowing him to perfectly capture melodies reminiscent of nostalgic melancholy. 

During Emancipator’s college years he studied psychology which has since been a major inspiration for his music. As a classically trained musician he innovated familiar electronic sounds into a new genre of ambient, global music. Apart from his college education, his parents had a profound influence on the music he makes today. Having grown up around handmade dulcimers, kalimbas, upright piano, and bluegrass it is no wonder his music has such enchanting undertones. 

His recent remix’s emanate mellow vibrations and ethereal synth. We can expect to hear long time classics and reimagined jams we may never hear again.
