Black Coffee Brews Up Something Special For His Concord Debut

After spending the last few years playing nightclubs around the world and his residencies in Ibiza and Las Vegas, South Africa’s most prominent electronic musician is going on tour! Bringing his beats to Concord Music Hall on May 11 is DJ and music producer, Black Coffee.

Under the stage name of Black Coffee, Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo began his music career in 1994. Ten years later, he enrolled in the 2004 Red Bull Music Academy in Cape Town. Not long after attending RBMA, Black Coffee started to gain a global following for his music. Since then, the DJ and producer has released countless remixes, a total of five albums and started his own label.

A decade or so into his music career, Black Coffee’s sound began to evolve. Holding onto his deep house roots, he found a way to produce tracks that were more danceable than your average hit; becoming more commercial and making his way into the pop music market.

Collaborating with artists like Wiz Khalifa, Drake, and other DJ’s such as David Guetta, Black Coffee has worked with some of the top artists today. With a mission to make house music the way he feels it, Black Coffee incorporates all of his surrounding influences into his music, adds an African vibe, and produces tracks that contain a variety of elements, allowing you to get lost in the music. Check out the music video for one of the DJ’s newest singles, “Wish You Were Here (feat. Msaki)."

To make sure you're ready for Black Coffee’s show at Concord, go ahead and listen to his most recent album, ‘Pieces Of Me,’ along with his hit singles and remixes. You can also check out his DJ set in The Lab NYC from November to get a better taste of what his live performances are like.

Get your tickets for Black Coffee at Concord Music Hall on Saturday, May 11 before they're sold out! We have no doubt this will be a night of pure magic. See you there!
