Summer Slaughter 2018 Returns to Concord Music Hall

The Summer Slaughter Tour has proven to be a powerful force among death-metal fanatics across the world since its debut in 2007. Throughout the years, Concord Music Hall has been a host to the Chicago Summer Slaughter date three times. This year, 2018 headliners, Between the Buried and Me are geared up for their two-month-long trek around the country, touching down in Chicago on July 24th.

BTBAM was a staple of the Summer Slaughter Tour lineup back in 2012. Since their Summer Slaughter debut, the group has spent their time recording and producing a number of albums, including the critically acclaimed, “Automata I” & “Automata II” released this year.

Between the Buried and Me has been quietly teasing the release of the second part to “Automata I” since its release in May of last year, and finally “Automata II” is here! The group has remained fairly quiet about the follow-up album this June when they released a teaser for a track off the album, “The Proverbial Bellow.” For fans of BTBAM, the song teased a forthcoming album that remains true to their classic progressive metal style, but adds bizarre twists that take a little more time to digest than their previous album. “The Proverbial Bellow” features a heavily saturated metal sound, and experiments with unexpected elements like interludes of hand-picked banjo that work together to create a wonderfully unique sound, one that BTBAM has trademarked.

The Summer Slaughter Tour 2018 will effectively serve as the debut tour for “Automata II,” so speculating about their setlist for their upcoming performances is difficult, but what we can be sure to expect is a classic BTBAM set filled with enough energy and heavy metal to last you a lifetime. The Summer Slaughter Tour 2018 will be rolling through Concord Music Hall on Tuesday July 24th. Get your tickets HERE!
